Ups and downs
On the first week on the holidays i had to go to a tangi/funeral for my 96 year old Nana Dawn she died over night and stayed at Maturi marae.then on Tuesday all of my whanau from my papas side came down to stay and say there last good byes at the funeral we had over 50 cuzzies and uncles and aunties. While we were there every morning we had to wake up at 6 or 5 o'clock for cooking breakfast and getting prepared for lunch, when we got up all the kids had to come inside and set up all the tables then go back outside and play sooner the Komatas gathered every one in the marae and started talking in full Maori about my Nana, the talks were about 5 to 7 hours because every one had to say something about my Nana Dwan (but not the kids because you have to speak in full Maori) after all that we had some lunch and the kids get what they are given and then the parents get to helps themselves.in the afternoon we just walk around the marae or for the people who arrived have to be welcomed in to see Nana Dwan,(when we enter a marae we have to take off our shoes because it disrespectful)as it was getting dark the kitchen people were cooking up for dinner and all the kids played in the front of the food court because we cant play in front of the marae, plus all the kids were playing bulrush and we all got muddy but at night we all played in the dark and jump over people pull each others hair talk and play ruff.after playing we had dinner and sayed prayer to bless the food then eat we the kids or adults finished we had clean and take off all the left over food that we didn't want and take them up to wash then dry. Then at 7 we had to go back in the marae to go to sleep and i felt cold every time when i go to sleep because they never close the door and the windows to.Then after two days we all woke up and sayed one more goodbye because she was getting buried on Wednesday in the afternoon, while we waited till the afternoon the adults in the kitchen were getting ready for after when every one comes back up from the cemetery while we were prepping up we cooked up fire bread, punas and cream, pork, chicken and etc. Then we did dessert and made chocolate fudge,ice-cream,And cake when we finished doing all the kai we gathered every one and then put the kids in age groups for table setting the ones that were 9 and under had to line up and then the other big kids that were 10 and up seated down at the back and the parents are at the front when we all seated my cousin tane said pray (the Maori one). Then we talked had food then desserts, and after all that we sayed good bye to all the whanua that left and then that was my holiday

Making a Change
In Kakapo we have been talking about sustainability and how company's can change there packages and become plastic
free.In the class we have been reading two text about
taking action and where to next. When we were reading these two text it gave us determination to do something about the debris in the water.Example our teacher was showing us a example about using cardboard and plastic if people started using cardboard instead the other product (plastic) will not sell so they would have to change and use cardboard, reusable bags and more. The great garbage patch is 1.6 million square kilometres long. That makes it twice bigger than Texas. Also the plastic in the water is effecting all the animals that live in there and it takes a long time for the different plastic to break down.So make a change for the whole world and make a change.

Rainfroest learning
In Kakapo we have been creating postes and slides about the rainforest and the desecration that is happening.
Every day trees are being cut down and animals being forced out of the homes and replacing the trees they cut down with palm trees for palm oil which is the highest oil crop in the world.
Thousands of fires are burning our forest which it is sending clouds of smoke that pollute the air.
And if this keeps continues it will release a big amount of carbon dioxide that will be a health risk.
We can help by protecting all the animals that live in the forest and plant more trees to help the environment.
We all depend on the rainforests because it gives us clean air and plants also absorb carbon dioxide and releases oxygen from there leaves to give us air and clean our water.
Also here's a video about dear future generation

NZ/New Zealand level 1!!!
Monday at midnight New Zealand moved to level 1.New Zealand is the only country that has no new cases of coivd 19 and also our number of deaths we had. Level 1 is a new start, we don't have to social distance sanitise our hands that much wear mask and gloves.while we are in level 1 we can have as many people in our house hold and kiwis that are in NZ we can travel very often.
I am proud to be a kiwi because if i was any where else in the world i would stay inside and never go out. While this is happening you could still keep up your higyine up by satirising your hands and wear gloves. When we moved into level one it felt like every thing was back to normal but i got used to the routine of when it was level 3 and 2 and how things worked. How did you feel when we moved into level 1.

we had to wear gloves so our hands wont get dirty while putting the soil in the baskets.
Also our relief teacher on ever Friday is called Mrs Hall. She came in today to bring in some succulents for the baskets while we were on the field the aim was to have as many different colour of plats so when we hang them they would look very beautiful. When we finished i learned some facts about succulents.
1.you cut them form the stem and they will still grow.?
2.They reduce water from the air and use it to grow.?
3.If you take a leaf off it will grow.?
4.The Little plants that grow off the plant they are called pups.?
5.when you plant them you have to dig them in deep.?

my weekend
Last weeks weekend my mum decided to go spend the weekend in kaitaia and see our dad.
while we were their we just played on our devices.
But later in the day my dad said lets go to 90 mile beach for a drive.
At first no one listened so he said it the second time but still no one listened so he had to raise his voice and say it again.
Then we put our devices down away from our faces and we all said *yeah* lets go to the beach.
As we were getting ready to go to the beach we had to get warm clothes on.So we left the house driving to the beach and having lots of fun running up and down the sandhills.
When it was getting a bit dark we went back home had dinner get changed in our pjames and watch movies.
